I saw this in the Post on Friday and had to laugh. When I reserved our tent site a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that there were only about 7-9 available spots out of 210 sites in our camping area. Crazy - huh? Luckily it was pouring rain in DC all day Thursday and Friday - and some of those people never showed up. It didn't rain on us once though and it was a beautiful sunny day on Saturday.

The image above is 4 different pictures combined into this vertical panoramic - it was absolutley beautiful.
We only stayed on night, but it was worth it. We had a deer come right into our camp twice.
We went hiking to Rose River Falls (the water was freezing I am told).

Thank you so much for all of your creative entries! This was so much fun for me. Here is the way the judging worked:
I asked three unbiased people (a photographer, an artist and an archivist) to give me their top 2-3 picks from the list of entries for the print.
And our winner is SPRING SERENADE. This entry came up on two of the judge's top picks. Sundee - you are the winner of the framed print.
The second place winner is OZAKI'S GIFT by Mike V. And you will receive a free 11x14 unframed print of the same picture.
Some of the other honorable mentions are:
La Belleza de las Cerezas (The Beauty of the Cherry (Blossoms))
Thanks so much for participating!
If you are a winner please contact me so I make sure I have your correct mailing address.
For all those interested I am currently in the process of getting a new website which will be devoted to my landscape/fine art photographs and you will be able to purchase prints directly from the site. I will be posting more information on my blog as the progress continues.

Picture is taken at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC in the Spring of 2008.
I always have a hard time giving my photographs a name, so that is going to be the contest.
Here are the details:
You must give this print a name - leave your answer in my comment box on my blog. Must submit your comment by Sunday (8-10-08) by midnight Eastern Time. I will have two third-party judges to decide the winner who will get to keep this photograph!
I will announce the winner on my blog by 8-12-08, so check back to see the results. Thanks for participating!

If you are in the DC area you should stop in to see my print. I have one piece hanging in a show at the DC temple visitor's center. You can see it now through September 14, 2008. More information on how to get there and the hours, click here.
I have a second image of the DC Cherry Blossoms that I was not able to enter because I did not meet the guidelines for the frame. I was thinking of doing a contest on my blog to give the print away ... is there any interest? Leave me a comment if you think I should do it!
